The problem with Thanksgiving is...
I always gain an average of 5 lbs over the weekend - eating leftovers and binging on other things since technically it is not a work weekend. My pants feel tight and my shirts look bloated. Oh well, there's enough time to lose all of that until the next holiday set.

Happy Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving dinner had a replacement meat since the goose and I are not too fond of turkey. We had ribs instead. Kelly found an easy recipe for ribs and it turned out fantastic!
- boil the ribs for about 45 minutes in beer/water. recipe says I could've used coke but since beer was handy, I used that instead.
- drain the water and place ribs in a casserole dish. smother with lots of barbecue sauce, cover with foil and place in the fridge for a couple of hours.
- bake at 250 degrees for 3 hours
We happen to mess up the kitchen in preparation for cooking. Man, we need an island in there.
On a different note: we stayed in Plano this year. Kelly always looks forward to San Francisco this time of year but unfortunately we couldn't make it. Anyway, we'll go next year for sure. In the meantime, I suggested we go to the Natural Caverns down in Austin this weekend. Maybe spend the night there since it is a 3 or 4 hours drive. Wait and see.

Goose is bored!
She texts me to say 'she's bored!' With school out this week, it would be a challenge to keep her busy instead of just sitting around and watching TV. I suggested she either write a story which we'll post here, or write a play with us starring in it which we'll show mommy later (or vice-versa). I just sent her another suggestion I found googling: Origami.
Here is my Thanksgiving Turkey Origami.
I wonder what she'll come up with..

Hospital or Casino??
My hospital had our United Way campaign and it normally ends with a Casino Night. UW has become the biggest charity event this hospital pays attention to. There are so many agencies partnered with UW which you would not know unless you're involved.
This room is normally a conference room and it looked great after the casino company brought in and set up their stuff.

Cruising..
Went North East of where we live. Lucas is where I took these pics. Kinda blah. I would have taken pics of the winding roads I was on but had to keep both hands on the handle bar..

Clever Scam - Taking Advantage of Older Men..
A friend sent me this. Thought I'd share..
"CAN’T BE TOO CAREFUL!
Women often receive warnings about protecting themselves at the mall and in dark parking lots, etc. This is the first warning I have seen for men. I wanted to pass it on in case you haven't heard about it. This will only become more commonplace as the weather warms. A 'heads up' for those men who may be regular Lowe’s, Home Depot, or Costco customers. This one caught me by surprise. Over the last month I became a victim of a clever scam while out shopping. Simply going out to get supplies has turned out to be quite traumatic. Don't be naive enough to think it couldn't happen to you or your friends.
Here's how the scam works:
Two seriously good-looking 20-something girls come over to your car as you are packing your shopping into the trunk. They both start wiping your windshield with a rag and Windex, with their breasts almost falling out of their skimpy T-shirts. It is impossible not to look. When you thank them and offer them a tip, they say 'No' and instead ask you for a ride to McDonalds.
You agree and they get into the back seat. On the way, they start undressing. Then one of them climbs over into the front seat and starts crawling all over you, while the other one steals your wallet. I had my wallet stolen June 4th, 9th, 10th, twice on the 15th,17th, 20th, 24th, & 29th. Also July 1st, 4th, twice on the 8th, 16th, 23rd, 26th & 28th, three times last Monday and very likely again this upcoming weekend.
So tell your friends to be careful. What a horrible way to take advantage of older men. Warn your friends to be vigilant.
Wal-Mart has wallets on sale for $2.99 each. I found cheaper ones for $1.99 at K- Mart and bought them out. Also, you never will get to eat at McDonalds. I've already lost 11 pounds just running back and forth to Lowe’s, Home Depot, and Costco."

Cruising..
After emptying out our storage unit all weekend, I found time to cruise around the neighborhood. This time, I decided to go North on Plano Pkwy for as long as I could. The route didn't last long when I reached 'The Colony'. I saw a sign that read, "City by the Lake" and thought it would be good to take a break there. The Colony is a suburb in Denton with about pop. 30K. As I rode around (actually got lost) I noticed it had a home-town feel to it without the massive developments you see sprouting all over. The weather at 70 degrees was just right for a picnic or a soccer game at the park. As I stopped at a convenience store to get my bearings (google map my way out) I realized that I should take pictures of the places I ride to. My first pic does not necessarily convey any reference to what The Colony is about other than having its name, but nevertheless I'll post it.
Next time I'll take more.
